I've never felt so strongly about an ESSAY in my life.

Wow.

Thank you, specifically: Jamie Tyo - the first instructor I've ever had that despised the five-paragraph format and thought we should think for ourselves.

And mirrormaul. For some reason, it wasn't until I read your work that I gained any respect for that kind of writing. Now I have a whole lot.

So here's what happened:

I was walking back to the dorm and I had this image and my own voice of certain words floating around in my head. They began to form ideas and full sentences, and at first they seemed almost creative writing/journal entry-like, but they had a different feel. Then I realized that I wasn't just talking in my head. I actually had something important to SAY. And so now it's kind of more like one of those essays written in a chronological mini-biography of specific events in my life, pertaining to racism and stereotype. And I'm so excited.

God I hope this works out well. I really love it.
